About Me
I graduated from the University of Illinois
College of Veterinary Medicine in 1980. My chief interests are internal
medicine, dermatology and kidney diseases. I developed a special interest
in the Chinese Shar-Pei breed after purchasing my first Shar-Pei, "Shami"
in 1983.
I am the Chairman of the Health Through Education Committee for
the Chinese Shar-Pei Club of America and have been since 1991. I have
been the Obedience Advisor for the CSPCA since 1988. I am the assistant
Director of Training for the Lyons Township Dog Training Club, an all-breed
AKC obedience club.
I am also a member of the American Animal
Hospital Association, the Association of Avian Practitioners, the American
Heartworm Society, the Chicago Veterinary Medical Association, the Illinois
State Veterinary Association and the American Veterinary Medical Association.
I received the William Morison Service Award from the CSPCA in 1997 for
service to the Shar-Pei fancy and in 2003 was given a Life Membership from
